Chocolate Sponge Cake
¤ Ingredients: ¤
Butter 200 g
Caster Sugar 200 g
Eggs 5
Vanilla Essence 2 tsp
Self Raising Flour 200 g
Baking Powder 2 tsp
Baking Paper as per need
For Chocolate Cream:
Chocolate (250 grams)
Cream 1/3 cup
Sugar 5 tbsp
Milk 150 ml
¤ Directions: ¤
☆ Preheat oven at 180 degrees and place baking paper in the oven.
☆ Whisk butter in a bowl with sugar until properly mixed.
☆ Add the eggs one at a time and mix properly. Then add vanilla extract and mix for 15 seconds
☆ Mix for 2 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface properly
☆ Add the flour and baking powder in the bowl through the strainer
☆ Mix the flour with a spoon
☆ Divide the mixture between two tins and bake or 20 minutes or until golden brown.
☆ In a pan add the milk and sugar and chocolate bar. Cook on medium heat until the chocolate has melted. Add the cream and mix well until mixture is thick.
☆ When cake is done take out. Spread the mixture on the first half and place the other piece on top and spread the remaining chocolate again. Serve.
